The show had several outstanding cast members. Above is Ivan Dixon who played Kinchloe and was the token African American on the show. He usually operated the radio undergroung the barracks and had few lines. he did have a couple of episodes that did center around him. The episode where he played the African prince is funny. However, he usually had to wait for lines and I never once saw an episode except one where Seargent Shulze actually acknowleged him. The other cast members are below. I decided to start off the site with Dixon because he was often over looked and a fine accomplished actor whose talents for the show were often ignored.

A t shirt you can't order off the internet anymore
tttHis was the main cast of the television show
The stars included labaue the short little french man. There was Newkirk played by Richard Dawson and Carter played by Larry Hovis. Of course Bob Crane played Hogan and got about 90 percent of the kissing scenes, although towards the final season klink was able to have some scenes making out with actresses. Shulze of course was the fat dumb jolly fat man and an ugly old actress played his wife in one episode. He flirted with Klinks secretary alot.
Bob liked his homemade pornography .He got most of the pussy outside the show along with the bulk of the endorsements
If they ever made a Hogans Hero's movie this guy would of been logical choice for the Hogan role circa 1981
I oftened wondered why they did not ever make a movie of this show in the eighties. I think the logical choice would of been Murray who resembles Bob Crane. He would of been a natural and you could thrown in the entire cast of Ghostbusters into the movie playing the rest of the prisoners.Who would play the sexy blonde secretary for Klink I don't know.
Fun fact
Did Bob get the woman or did Hogan
quickly falling for the woman who played Colonel Klinks secretary following the second season, Bob lavished attention to the moment he saw her. She played the role unto the end of the show. She quickly became the new MRS Crane as soon as Bob divorced his other less attractive first wife
Hogan with one of his many women he met on the show
. Hogan and the crew at the place they call home
The guys in the baracks planning on screwing up the German war effort again. This was the base where they planed and accessed their long network of tunnels which was under the bunk in the background. This is where they lived, laboue cooked, played cards, and basically hung out when the Germans did not allow them outside. it was pretty drabby and most prison and concentration camps were, but they managed to smuggle in a radio and listen to the BBC. Newkirk played by Richard dawson often looked at Carter with contempt as in this photo
Tiger Lily one hot babe who should of been in many more episodes..
This sexy acrtess was in a few episodes playing a spy and swaping spit with Bob Crane. many of the women who got roles on this TV show were way better looking than the average woman. Usually the Colonel Hogan character was able to get romantic with them. tiger was definately one of the best looking women to appear on the show.
Richard Dawson and Nekirk character was a jerk and in real life
Newkirk giving that contempt look again this time at a German guard
As I mentioned before, Richard Dawson was always giving a contempt look on his kisser. In the book who mudered Bob Crane, Dawson is portrayed as a person difficult to get along with on the set. The actors argued over lines and time. Dawson was a real jerk who got angry when people messed up lines. He caused alot of headaches and drama during filming on the set in California. he played the Englishman of the group and of course went on to star in game show The Family Feud. He was not a good Hogans Heros family member and did little to keep in touch with the other actors after the show ended. They were better off having nothing to do with him from what I read about his personal character. The character on the show was good though.
Get free email from stalag13.com
I noticed this site on the web where you too can get your stalag 13 email address account. They have a free and premenium service. WWW.stalog13.com Why somebody would come up with this e mail site I do not know. I may get one and check it out. If anyone else comes up with kooky Hogans Heros stuff my email will be here in the near future.
Colonel Klink was a joke
.Here is Klink in a General Patton type pose. The guy was a joke and I wonder if his character was based on a real German commander in the first or second World War. On the show I noticed on his desk was a old World War 1 spike helmet. I wonder if there was a prison of war Kommandent who was a bufoon in the first war and somehow Bring Crosby heard about him. I can't imagine the Nazis ever allowing someone like Klink to actually run anything except the groundskeeping. I have often wondered about the whole monocole thing too. Was this a common eyepiece in Germany. How can anyone where one eye piece??
Keeping warm in the brutal German winter
The crew trying to keep warm one winter morning at stalag 13. Notice this is the sixth season when ivan Dixon got replaced with another token African American in one of the great injustices of the program. The fact that Ivan was not given a raise and offered back in the shows last season is a black spot (no pun intended) of this classic series. This actor coundn't hold Kinchloe's radio
A pic of Newkirk and Hogan dressed as Gestapo. I never liked when these guys dressed up in the evil that was the SS. it took a little away from the comedy of this show
Klink and Shulze making gang did their own graves before facing the firing squad.
Not sure when this picture was from or what episode. It might of been carters funeral as he is only one not in this picture
This is what Klink usually saw of Shulze after drinking shnapps all night
Hogan made German marks
Hogan showing Shulze what really matters in the world. Check out Ivan Dixon in the background.
Kinchloe kicked ass
Kinchloe is thinking burn baby burn about these two crackers and what he is about to do with them explosives
Weapons testing
This picture of Colonel Hogan and da Germans was from the episode where they were testing a mini-tank. The gang stole the blueprints and created a fiasco as usual thwarting the nazis from ruling the world with their "cutting edge technology ". The idea of a radio controlled tank is one of the craziest things I have ever heard of.
I discovered this picture on the net. it makes a good wallpaper for a cell phone or computer. It should of had shulze in background too
Why is loui lebeaue in the middle
Nothing could hold Colonel Hogan down. The barb wire was easily accessed by the men of stalog 13. They also had a network of tunnels underneath the camp. They would come and go as they needed to accomplish a mission. Whether it was helping the underground sabotage the German war effort, or helping allied prisoners of war escape to England Colonel Hogan led these renegades.
Andrew carter calling home
The guys at stalag 13 had many access to communications for a prisoner of war camp. It really was amazing how they could call subs, pizza places in New York, and bars in Germany. They also intercepted many phone calls to Klink's office and posed as other German officers. ivan dixon Klinchoe did a real good german accent for a black man, and Richard dawson was thye other main cast member personating a German voice over the telephone.
The kommandant of stalog 13
The colonel Klink in his official camp photograph in 1943
Sing with the hogans heroes gang
I came across this record on the internet. I did not know the gang had singing talent or even did it
Hogans Heroes sabotages many new German weaponary
This picture was from an episode in the first season where Hogan and his men ruined this Colonel and his new V II rocket. How he was able to survive the rocket explosion I don't know. only in Hogan's Heroes world can somebody stand next to a huge rocket and an explosion which sets it off aimed at Berlin.
Seargent Carter idolized Colonel Hogan
Colonel Hogan gave Andrew alot of tough love on the show as Carter was kinda slow and talked too much
It was not easy leading a men in a german camp during wartime
Colnel Hogan had to lead a diverse group of men in a prisoner of war camp during wartime. they did not always want to follow his dangerous missions and often butted heads with their commanding officer. her he is argueing with old little frenchy about something.
Great picture of the heroes in their barracks
Louie leboue was likely cooking them some grape suzette or some other fine French dish he always talked about when he wore that french chefs hat.
Bob crane off set getting to close to John Banner
Hogan with the first secretary of Colonel Klink in season one before she was dumped
I liked this actress who played helda in the first season.I don't know what happened to her as she was replaced by another blonde german looking acctress who would later turn into Bob Cranes wife. maybe she played very hard to get to the horndog Mr Crane was turning into due to success of this program
The two colonels of Hogans heroes goofing off offset
Hogan was always messing with Klink's world war 1 hun helmet
This scene must of been when Shulze's laundry got mixed up with baracks two laundry.
Hogan having fun with both klink and Shulze this time
Leon Askin who played General Burkhalter on the television show was a jewish holocost survivor
Leon Askin was born in Vienna, Austria as Leo Aschkenasy on Yom Kippur in 1907
His parents were killed by the Nazis
In 1940 he emigrated to America
In 1994 he returned to his native Vienna
He continues to perform on stage
In 2002, he was married at the age of 95
Who Knew?
Nita Talbot was another hot part timer on Hogans Heroes
She played a russian spy for a few episodes and was the only hot woman the character played gy Bob Crane did not actively pursue. She annoyed him on the show but I loved looking at her and my favorite episodes of Hogans Heroes involved her.
Colonel Klink talking on a cell phone brought back in time????
Here are the heroes with hogan getting the girl again
